Travel Season

Final exams - finally done! Just in time, Yuka arrived on Thursday and later today we will be up in the air heading west - to Vancouver. It is supposed to be one of the nicest scenes of the world.

We'll get to the bottom of it - you certainly can be looking forward to some fascinating facts in the not too distant future!

Picture Puzzle

Can you help me to find the 10 mistakes?
Ok, I know this is a hard one - both pictures of our sweet home do look identical on first sight.
Hint: the photos were taken on nice April mornings, less than a week apart.

Original?

Fake?

Curling

Curling is a major winter sport here. Know Boccia? Ok, you can hardly play this one on the beach, but that's how it roughly works.
To teams of 4 players each compete against each other.

Each team throws eight rocks and tries to get them as close to the center of the ca. 40m distant rings as possible. Only rocks inside the circle score.

Too slow? C'mon, sweep it hard!
Only the team having that one rock being closest to the center scores points.

Elmira Maple Syrup Festival

Some 14 km north of Waterloo is Elmira. It's a more real than touristy nice little working country town and venue of the World's largest Maple Syrup Festival. Street activities, pancake breakfasts as well as gigantic pickles on a stick - defenitely a must-see/eat! Not to forget a great opportunity to stock up on favourable maple syrup...

Eric, Dan, me, Greg and Karen (from left to right) had a good time. Thanks guys!
